What is CNC Turning? Detailed process description
CNC turning is a common subtractive manufacturing process that uses cutting tools to remove excess material from the workpiece.
On a constantly rotating workpiece, chips are cut off until it reaches the desired shape, diameter and size of the final product.

For shaft parts, the outer cylindrical surface is generally used as the positioning reference; for sleeve parts, the inner hole is generally used as the positioning reference.
The clamping method depends on the shape of the part and the needs. Generally speaking, the CNC lathe turning process has three stages: rough machining, semi-finishing machining and finishing machining.
In order to improve the machining quality and ensure the accuracy, in the specific machining steps, follow these principles: rough first and then fine, close first and then far, inside first and then outside.
The machining accuracy should be gradually improved; first machine the surfaces with different roughness levels.
